Located at the base of the highest peak in San José del Cabo, El Valle is a residential development composed of twelve three-bedroom duplex residences organized across a sloping desert site. The project's relationship with the landscape informed its architectural strategy, allowing the development to adapt to the existing topography while capturing views toward both the golf course and the Sea of Cortez.

The development is arranged as three residential buildings set on a series of stepped platforms that follow the natural contours of the hillside. Existing vegetation informed a landscape restoration strategy that reintroduces native species and strengthens the connection between the architecture and its desert setting.

The architectural language is defined by a relationship between mass and void. Stone-clad volumes establish the primary composition, while exposed circulation elements connect the different levels and create a layered reading of the project. Vertical wooden screens provide solar protection, privacy, and rhythm to the façades, complementing the solidity of the stone volumes.

As the first duplex product within the larger community, the project places particular emphasis on shared experiences. A central amenity plaza containing a pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, and gathering spaces serves as the social heart of the development, encouraging interaction among residents and organizing the overall composition of the site.

Materiality is anchored by stone sourced from nearby Santa Catarina, selected for its ability to blend naturally with the surrounding landscape. Travertine flooring, quartzite surfaces, and natural wood accents reinforce a restrained palette that reflects the character of the region.

Through its integration with the terrain, emphasis on community, and careful use of local materials, El Valle proposes a residential environment where architecture and landscape are experienced as a continuous whole.
